In 1998, chemicals manufacturer Borealis was looking for a company capable of carrying out swage lining (now TubOcontact) work on its Sines site. SADE Special Works successfully saw this project through. A connection had been made, and over the following months this led to the creation of SADE\u2019s branch in Portugal.<\/p>\n

SADE Portugal and REPSOL<\/h2>\n

Starting in 1999, SADE Portugal further developed its relationship with this client. And when Borealis was taken over by REPSOL in 2002, SADE was still on board, taking on both rehabilitation (particularly fire safety systems) and miscellaneous works (including industrial cleaning).<\/p>\n

Today, its business relationship with REPSOL is as strong as ever. SADE uses its full range of skills to support this industrialist via multi-year contracts signed since 2011 covering both industrial cleaning and related activities (wastewater and rainwater treatment network rehabilitation, basin rehabilitation, laying of geomembranes, one-off soil decontamination, etc.).<\/p>\n

Like all industrialists, REPSOL has extremely strict safety protocols on its Sines site. These include a ban on wearing overalls featuring any pockets, mandatory posting of a lookout for all teams of more than 2 people, plus the upcoming ban on all on-site bike use\u2026 tricycles will be taking their place!<\/p>\n

And how about diversification at SADE Portugal?<\/h2>\n

On top of its setup at REPSOL, SADE Portugal has used the same skills to support GALP Energia, a Portuguese oil company.
\nMore recently, in December 2017, SADE Portugal began work at HOVIONE, the country\u2019s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer, which makes active ingredients for medicines on its Loures site, 20km from Lisbon. On a small, very cramped site, SADE was selected to construct a wastewater treatment system, a rainwater storage basin, and a wastewater pumping station, plus carry out roads & utilities works. These services were performed to the satisfaction of the client which, to deal with its growing sales revenue, is planning to build a new plant on a larger site in Seixal. SADE Portugal has its own setup on REPSOL\u2019s site in Sines.
