{"id":10317,"date":"2020-03-23T10:18:38","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T09:18:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sade-cgth.fr\/?p=10317"},"modified":"2021-05-19T10:24:17","modified_gmt":"2021-05-19T08:24:17","slug":"business-continuity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sade-cgth.fr\/en\/blog\/geography\/europe-en\/business-continuity\/","title":{"rendered":"Business continuity"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1621412396552{margin-right: 20px !important;}&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #999999\"><strong>A closer look at Ecuador and the city of Guayaquil where our leak repair teams are hard at work despite the current full lockdown and curfew\u2026<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With more than 500 cases of coronavirus in the country, the Ecuadorian government declared a nationwide state of emergency on 16 March, imposing a full lockdown, travel restrictions and a strict curfew between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Shock information campaigns were also organised to raise public awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interagua (Veolia), which is tasked with guaranteeing the city of Guayaquil\u2019s continuous drinking water supply, required SADE to be more operational than ever on its 2 drinking water and wastewater treatment maintenance contracts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So SADE Ecuador got organised to meet its customer\u2019s expectations both effectively and safely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Its initial decisions involved assigning administrative staff, including HR and accounting, to remote work and sending vulnerable operational staff home.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Teams were then mobilised to provide urgent services:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">on site: 1 works engineer, 1 works supervisor, 1 HSE officer, 5 worksite managers, and 10 repair teams.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in the office to receive work SOs and handle follow-up, plans and invoicing: 1 supervision manager, 3 admin staff (inputting SOs into the system), 1 CAD designer;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in the store, purchasing department and workshop: 6 staff.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Multiple machines were then assigned to these tasks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: 6 3T flatbed trucks, 5 vans, 4 diggers, 5 light vehicles, and 4 tipper trucks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>A specific organisation was also put in place <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to guarantee the teams\u2019 safety: hiring of 2 minibuses to transfer employees every morning and evening, identification of a supplier for meals due to the closure of the usual sites, purchasing of masks, regular disinfection of vehicles, working with a doctor to check on-site staff temperatures every morning and evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And finally, passes were issued to the teams to grant them 24\/7 access.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are a few remaining issues, particularly how to procure backfill, concrete and asphalt materials for ground repairs.
