An ex-nihilo project for the Doullennais Inter-Municipal Drinking Water Authority to improve life for the 300 inhabitants of this village.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>A coordinated worksite<\/h2>\n<p>SADE was responsible for laying, along 600m, a gravitational mains in 200mm-diameter sandstone, creating around 50 branch connections in 150mm-diameter sandstone, and the building of a pumping station and its discharge in 90mm-diameter HDPE along 300m. These facilities were located on clay-rich land at a depth of 1.3m to 2m. To avoid interfering with the harvesting period, the project was phased in coordination with local farmers, to enable them to cross the land with their machinery.<\/p>\n<h2>Solidarity<\/h2>\n<p>A SADE team from Wambrechies built most of the facilities, as the teams from the Amiens Agency were already assigned to other projects in the area. A fine example of intra-regional solidarity!<\/p>\n<h2>Invaluable expertise<\/h2>\n<p>Laying sandstone pipes requires specific skills that SADE excels in and maintains among its teams in numerous regions, in particular those in northern and eastern France. While this material is highly durable once laid, it is particularly fragile and breakable during transport and handling phases.\u00a0 For this site, almost 250 200mm-diameter sandstone pipes measuring 2.5m in length, and 200 150mm-diameter sandstone pipes of 1.5m in length were carefully laid on an adapted bed, inserted together and then asphalted prior to backfilling.<\/p>\n<p>This widely-used material in the east of France regained a certain prestige in the Hauts-de-France region with a project showcasing the skills, agility and solidarity of SADE teams![\/vc_column_text][vc_message style=&#8221;square&#8221; message_box_color=&#8221;white&#8221; icon_type=&#8221;entypo&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1691572074396{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-right: 30px !important;border-bottom-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 1px !important;background-color: #008bcb !important;border-bottom-color: #008bcb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}&#8221; icon_entypo=&#8221;entypo-icon entypo-icon-info-circled&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b>R\u00e9mi PICQUART, Site Superviser \u2013 Hauts-de-France RD\u2013 Amiens Agency<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><em>\u2018I did my 5 years of work-study, i.e. a 2-year technical degree and 3-year engineering course, with the Dunkirk Agency. I\u2019ve been a site supervisor since late 2019 with the Wambrechies Agency. Events also led me to 6 months\u2019 work in \u00cele-de-France and the same duration in the Amiens sector. With a position like mine and within the Group, my mobility in response to market demand is a natural act of solidarity.
