{"id":12504,"date":"2023-01-26T10:11:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T09:11:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sade-cgth.fr\/?p=12504"},"modified":"2023-08-10T15:07:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T13:07:57","slug":"without-trenches-or-manhole-shafts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sade-cgth.fr\/en\/blog\/geography\/africa-en\/without-trenches-or-manhole-shafts\/","title":{"rendered":"Without trenches or manhole shafts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1691672833549{margin-right: 30px !important;}&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #999999;\"><strong>CTHM pursues the development of its trenchless techniques.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The R\u00e9gie Autonome de K\u00e9nitra (RAK) [Kenitra independent authority] is launching rehabilitation works on collector D, T230, located under the busy Mohamed Diouri Avenue, which links Place de la Gare to Oued Sebou, (1.5km).<\/p>\n<h2>Project<\/h2>\n<p>The teams will rehabilitate this straight-lined combined sewerage system, gaining access via existing manholes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On-site polymeric UV close-fit lining along a 224m-section in 500mm-diameter concrete<\/li>\n<li>Concrete spraying along 1.2km of T230 ovoid sewers with rubble stone (a more suitable technique than the laying of liners for equivalent hydraulic capacity)<\/li>\n<li>Pitting and levelling with mortar of 29 manholes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Optimisation and training<\/h2>\n<p>CTHM invested in specific equipment for the concrete spraying. 15 people will be trained for working in confined spaces and will avail of enhanced safety measures on the worksite. An operating centre will be set up to optimise worksite organisation.<\/p>\n<h2>Diversification<\/h2>\n<p>CTHM confirms its aim to diversify and develop trenchless works for visitable and non-visitable sites in busy areas of Morocco.<\/p>\n<p>Works commenced in January 2023 and will last for a maximum of 8 months. Around 15km will thus be rehabilitated without any impact on the city\u2019s main thoroughfare, which is the departure point for trains to Rabat and Tangier.[\/vc_column_text][vc_message style=&#8221;square&#8221; message_box_color=&#8221;white&#8221; icon_type=&#8221;entypo&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1691672849226{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-right: 30px !important;border-bottom-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 1px !important;background-color: #008bcb !important;border-bottom-color: #008bcb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}&#8221; icon_entypo=&#8221;entypo-icon entypo-icon-info-circled&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Continuous close-fit lining of the collectors consists in inserting lining which has been pre-impregnated with a polyester resin. It is laid on the existing pipeline using compressed air, and then polymerised by a train of UV lamps. This ensures the waterproofing and restructuring of the collectors from manhole to manhole.
