Two years after the first worksite was completed in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, it\u2019s now the turn of Antibes water-sports stadium.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>A profitable solution: using heat from a public sewer main<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Antibes City Council launched the project to redevelop the water-sports stadium\u2019s outdoor facilities, opting to recover energy from wastewater systems to heat the pools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The recommended and selected energy solution recovers heat stored in the public sewer main running past the site on Route de Nice .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Though Veolia is managing the full installation on the client\u2019s premises, SADE is handling the works on public land.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Works<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The works, carried out on the outdoor pool supply between January and June 2020, involved diverting wastewater from the public sewer main and setting up a pumping and heat exchange system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The worksite in detail:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 pumping station<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 wastewater exchanger<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 water\/water heat pump for heating and cooling<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 plate exchanger for pool cooling<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 hot water accumulator tank for heat storage<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Requisite hydraulic systems<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They will heat the pools over the winter months and cool them in summer. Ultimately, the complex will be heated via two independent heating plants, one for the buildings and indoor pools, and the other to heat the outdoor pools.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_message style=&#8221;square&#8221; message_box_color=&#8221;white&#8221; icon_type=&#8221;entypo&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1607943498855{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 40px !important;background-color: #008bcb !important;}&#8221; icon_entypo=&#8221;entypo-icon entypo-icon-info-circled&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #ffffff\"><b>Energido: ever more satisfied SADE customers<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #ffffff\">The next worksite will start up in Aulnay-sous-Bois on Monday 31 August. This one is overseen by the Argenteuil Agency (Greater Paris Regional Division), which will install a wastewater lifting station and hook it up to the public wastewater system. The Argenteuil Agency will also dig the pumping pit to supply the exchanger located in a technical room at the aquatics centre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #ffffff\">The initiator of the project, Veolia, will then manage the system\u2019s installation on public land at the Aulnay-sous-Bois aquatics centre, designed as a training centre for the 2024 Olympic Games. The calories recovered via this method are routed to a reversible heat pump, capable of releasing the energy back to power the heating or cooling system.
