Its primary aim is to stop discharging wastewater into the La Balhaut stream. And also to reroute it to the\u00a0River Escaut and reduce demand on the WWTP, which has until now handled 100% of the water from the system.<\/b><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2608&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css_animation=&#8221;slideInLeft&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2607&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1599470954921{margin-top: 25px !important;margin-right: 30px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2606&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1599471072664{margin-top: 30px !important;margin-right: 30px !important;}&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>2 apartment buildings, 1 complex<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here, wastewater from the Rubens and Elisabeth apartment buildings still spills into an underground, channelled stretch of the stream. SADE was selected to reroute it to with two extensions of the wastewater treatment systems via 2 lifting stations. Although the works on the Elisabeth apartment building are conventional, this is not the case for the Rubens apartment building.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What a \u201csite\u201d!<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rerouting wastewater from the Rubens apartment building means:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">extending the wastewater treatment system by 100m at a depth of 1.30m with a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2205<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">160 polypropylene (PP) pipe, and creating 3 PP manholes (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2205<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1,000);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">adding a 7m-deep concrete manhole over the upper generatrix of the stream channel;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">laying, in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2205<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1,400 channel, 2 corbelled segments of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2205<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">160 PP pipe to reroute wastewater from the 3 service pipe connections connected to the 86 apartments;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">connecting these segments to a 10m-high, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2205<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2,000 GRP lifting station previously set up near the channel and its new manhole.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>An XXL, synergetic lifting station<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lowering then installing this kind of lifting station on a cast apron and installing this kind of manhole over the channel require safe, bespoke preliminary earthworks. As a result, nearly 250m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of earth were excavated down to a depth of 10.5m using a long-reach excavator in a 6x4m area secured with 112 micropiles (depth: 18m, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2205<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">300) and 3 HEB belts. <\/span><b>With micropiles bored by our subsidiary PERRIER, which also worked on the HEBs, an apron and working drawings produced by SADE Ing\u00e9nierie, equipping of the station (two 1+1 pumps) handled by our subsidiaries SET and CIEMA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and materials negotiated by <\/span><b>TERRATECH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, this facility couldn\u2019t be any more synergetic.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>A short lead time<\/h2>\n<p>Work began in early July and this section of the worksite is scheduled for completion by 31 August, subject to significant penalties. To meet its commitment, SADE Group successfully mobilised the right material and human resources, and some staff even agreed to postpone their leave to \u201cenjoy the ride\u201d.
