{"id":6102,"date":"2020-10-05T11:11:53","date_gmt":"2020-10-05T09:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sade-cgth.fr\/blog\/2020\/10\/05\/one-plant-at-a-time\/"},"modified":"2020-10-05T11:11:53","modified_gmt":"2020-10-05T09:11:53","slug":"one-plant-at-a-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sade-cgth.fr\/en\/blog\/geography\/europe-en\/one-plant-at-a-time\/","title":{"rendered":"One plant at a time"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1607964198272{margin-right: 20px !important;}&#8221;]<span style=\"color: #999999\"><b>Montmartin-Hauteville-Annoville and Lingreville wastewater treatment authority is getting stuck into the renovation of the current Montmartin-sur-Mer WWTP, built back in 2005.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This WWTP\u2019s incoming backflow station had one weakness: the input, via multiple force mains, of H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">S gas (hydrogen sulphide) that oxidises the facility\u2019s concrete structures and its upstream manhole.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Rouen Regional Division was awarded this worksite as lowest responsible bidder in June 2020, proposing the construction of a new HDPE station, near the existing one, so as to guarantee a fully-waterproof and non-H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">S sensitive facility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The works, which began in August 2020, include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the fitting of an upstream manhole and the new 300m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\/h, HDPE backflow station equipped with 3 pumps,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the creation of a 200m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> storage basin,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the creation of a 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> back-up station featuring two 50m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\/h pumps in case the storage basin overflows;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the rehabilitation of the concrete pre-treatment tank, also damaged by H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">S, including its by-pass.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">N.B. This worksite is located 300m from the sea and near the Passevin canal.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So the water table, measured by the geotechnical survey 1.40m below the ground surface required the laying of sheet piles and the lowering of the water table using wellpoints for the earthworks (up to 6m deep).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The sizing of the sheet piles, the ballasting of the structures, the calculation memo and the stability of the structures were handled by SIng\u2019s civil engineering teams.
