on a technological project to build a biogas-producing WWTP for an industrial client.
In May 2020, SADE Ingénierie, as part of a consortium with VWT Poland, won an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, & Construction) contract with MASPEX GROUP to build a biogas-producing wastewater treatment plant. The production site is located in Valenii de Munte, 110km north of Bucharest, in Romania.
The building permit was issued in June 2020 and today the team is on the verge of completing the challenge of finishing the project within the agreed 12-month deadline.
United we stand
As part of a consortium with VWT Poland, SADE Ingénierie recommended a turnkey solution for this industrial client, based on patented Veolia technologies (Biobed, EGSB and MBBR), which perfectly meet the plant’s treatment needs. The complementary fit between the 2 entities saw them win this deal, particularly due to VWT Poland’s experience treating effluent and SADE Ingénierie’s ability to design and commission complex multidisciplinary projects.
SADE Ingénierie is handling the civil engineering side plus the installation of the electromechanical, automation and instrumentation systems. To optimise the phases of the project and manage its implementation, the two entities are cooperating on both the start-up and commissioning phases.
The plant will be heated using biogas…
At the end of the project, the plant will be capable of not only treating all the production effluent (1,600m³/day), but also producing biogas to generate power (approx. 15,000kWhr/day).
This biogas produced in an anaerobic reactor will be used first and foremost to heat the client’s site. It should soon also supply a cogeneration engine to generate power as at full capacity it generates more power than the system needs.
This system is not only energy efficient, but even generates power!
