Ivory Coast: new Bouaké drinking water plant project

September 14, 2020

An outstanding success for the SADE Group with the signing of 3 contracts with Veolia Africa and Veolia Ivory Coast.
The project’s overall aim is to meet the country’s second largest city’s growing demand for drinking water. SADE was already previously selected by PFO (General Contractor) to carry out the civil engineering design work on these same facilities.

Description of the new contracts

The latest 3 contracts cover the detailed design, construction and commissioning of the facilities for the new plant, as well as its intermediate lifting station. They are included in the first package of the new plant, which will have a production capacity of 2,500 m3/h using raw water taken from the River Bandama located some fifty kilometres away.

This plant will bolster the production of the existing La Loka plant, where SADE Group is also responsible for a range of rehabilitation works. The treatment section is traditional and uses Veolia’s Actiflo®  technology. The facilities are scheduled to be fully commissioned by April 2022.

This success is the result of the setup of innovative and collaborative organisations between teams at SIng Paris, SIng Bucharest and SADE CI, with logistical support from Franzetti, which proved a decisive and essential partner.

Progress report

The 4D BIM design work is ongoing, starting with collaborative work by the teams in Paris and Bucharest on the project’s 3D modelling. Next will come the phasing of the works for the more complex facilities, combining model components with “traditional” scheduling tasks, which will make worksite monitoring and regular adjustment of the schedule based on actual progress possible.

Let’s dive together into a virtual reality experience to enjoy a taste of what’s to come.

We wish great success and plenty of energy to the teams working on bringing these projects – which could lead to others in the area – to fruition!
