SADE acts for the environment in Terramesnil

10 November 2021
From June to September 2021, SADE helped to create the wastewater system for the Terramesnil municipality, in coordination with Balestra TP. An ex-nihilo project for the Doullennais Inter-Municipal Drinking Water Authority to improve life for the 300 inhabitants of this village. A coordinated worksite SADE was responsible for laying, along 600m, a gravitational mains in 200mm-diameter sandstone, creating around 50 branch connections in 150mm-diameter sandstone, and the building of a pumping station and its discharge in 90mm-diameter HDPE along 300m. These facilities were located on clay-rich land at a depth of 1.3m to 2m. To avoid interfering with the harvesting… +

Installation of a seawater heat pump system

29 October 2021
Energy transition: a growth strategy for SADE. Background In 2019, the Boulonnais Local Authority (CAB) carried out a feasibility test for the installation of an ambient loop system using seawater to produce heat. The study site is located in the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer (Capécure area). The aim of the  is to power two warehouses of the cold storage company Norfrigo, in place of the current air-cooled condensers, and thus enhance the energy efficiency of the refrigeration production unit. The study consists in the creation of two ambient heat loops: A seawater loop An intermediate industrial water loop (glycol water) The… +

DPSM demonstrates its extensive expertise

7 October 2021
From compelling conviction to technical mastery. We look back at a trenchless adventure! Via Veolia, the Rodez Local Area Authority (8 municipalities) called on DPSM in September 2020 for the collapse of a sewage pipe (200mm-diameter) under a private housing estate in the Luc-la-Primaube district. This promised to be a complex project for many reasons: Its location in a privately owned area Its depth of over 3m The 4m-length of the collapsed pipe The presence of asbestos Bursting, a solution to be agreed on On paper, busting appeared to be the best solution for the execution of these works without… +

A multi-network, multi-technique project for SNF, the specialist in polymers for the petrochemical sector

7 September 2021
In the wake of the COVID pandemic, SNF, the flagship of France’s chemical industry, reviewed its economic approach to polymer production. It turned to greener production, geared towards cardboard manufacturers, with new water-soluble polymers which help to reduce raw material needs. Extension works were thus carried out to its plant in Dunkirk port, with the building of a first production unit for these new polymers. The Hauts-de-France RD (Dunkirk Agency) laid the underground networks on the site, which, given the constraint of the water table, consisted in: 45,600m³ of excavation works Laying of more than 4km of stormwater network (315mm-diameter… +

SADE Special Works’ finest manholes for the SIAAP north-east outfall

30 August 2021
To transport wastewater to its pre-treatment and treatment facilities, the Greater Paris Sanitation Authority (SIAAP) manages a 440km network composed primarily of outfalls with manhole access. The rehabilitation of 11 manholes, along the north-east outfall, was entrusted to SADE Special Works. A similar task across the board… For 10 manholes of 20m to 65m in depth, all equipped with a concrete staircase, SADE Special Works’ task was to clean, purge coatings, apply a special mortar for hostile environments and, where necessary, replace or install safety features such as handrails. …with… +

A new market in Romania

23 August 2021
Design and building of a new mineral water production plant! Romania is home to more than 60% of Europe’s mineral water resources and is the EU’s 5th biggest producer of natural mineral water. Founded in the 19th century, Biborteni is one of Romania’s leading mineral water producers and a key local market player. The company has nevertheless remained on a human scale and produces limited quantities of high-quality mineral water. Biborteni wished to double the production of its Covasna plant in Romania and planned to build a new water treatment plant with a capacity of 15 m³/ hour, in the… +

The Jourdain programme explained

22 July 2021
Veolia and SADE have joined forces to provide an innovative and ethical solution to reusing treated wastewater to supply drinking water to districts in the department of Vendée. Circular water recovery programme Its aim is threefold: to provide an additional solution in areas with high demand in summer and where there is an imbalance in conventional resources, to operate a circular system of water use by sending treated wastewater to reservoirs rather than discharging it into the sea, and to validate the refining process to obtain very high-quality water and demonstrate its safety for the receiving environment. Rather than being… +

Making sure fire-fighting water storage is compliant

20 July 2021
… to protect the environment at Collins Aérospace As part of its efforts to develop the industrial market, the Paris Regional Division won a contract with Collins Aérospace in Antony (in the Hauts-de-Seine department) The site specialises in the maintenance and manufacture of fire-protection systems for helicopters, tanks and aeroplanes. An inspection by the Regional and Interdepartmental Office of the Environment and the Energy of Ile-de-France (DRIEE) revealed non-conformities with regard to classified industrial facilities for environmental protection. This prompted the Franco-American firm to call on SADE, which it identified thanks to its brand-new website! The survey submitted by the… +

Laying cables

for the city of Nantes, which is burying its high-voltage lines as part of commercial venture.  MESIL (which stands for ‘mise en souterrain par initiative locale’ – placing networks underground at the initiative of local authorities) is the name given by RTE (the Electricity Transmission Network) to projects undertaken at the request of local communities. In the Beaujoire neighbourhood, at the request of the city of Nantes, SADERTELEC is undertaking two MESIL projects for RTE to bury overhead lines in this area to allow for the expansion of a shopping centre.
